Located at 600 Greensboro Avenue in downtown Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Historic Bama Theatre (City Hall Building) dates back to 1938. Designed in the Streamline Moderne style, the building originally combined civic and performance functions and features an atmospheric interior with elements that evoke grandeur—twinkling ceiling features, decorative plasterwork, vintage flourishes alongside updated lighting and seating. Over decades, it has been renovated and adapted for live theater, concerts, film screenings, and community events. With downtown Tuscaloosa’s restaurants, shops, and cultural life just outside its doors, The Historic Bama Theatre remains both a cherished landmark and a lively center for artistic engagement.
