Frauenthal Theater – Muskegon’s Historic Showplace

The Frauenthal Theater, at 425 West Western Avenue in Muskegon, Michigan, first opened in 1930 as the Michigan Theater and was later renamed after industrialist A.H. Frauenthal. Its lavish Spanish Renaissance interior, complete with chandeliers and gilded details, has been carefully preserved through restoration. With seating for more than 1,700, it provides both grandeur and intimacy for concerts, Broadway tours, symphonies, and community productions. Located in downtown Muskegon, the Frauenthal anchors a district filled with restaurants, shops, and waterfront attractions, making it a cultural treasure of West Michigan.
