The Strand Theatre – Shreveport’s Majestic State Theatre of Louisiana
Located at 619 Louisiana Avenue in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana, The Strand Theatre is a restored historic performing arts venue with roots going back to 1925. Built by the Saenger family, it was once called “The Million Dollar Theatre” and has been praised for its grand scale, ornate detailing, and classic theater ambiance. After years of decline, it was rescued and renovated, reopening in the 1980s and continuing since then as one of Northwest Louisiana’s premier stages for Broadway tours, music concerts, dance, and community events.
