The San Angelo Performing Arts Center, at 82 Gillis Street in San Angelo, Texas, opened in 2016 and features multiple venues, including the 300-seat Brooks & Bates Theatre and the 1,300-seat Murphey Performance Hall. With state-of-the-art acoustics and staging, the center supports Broadway tours, concerts, ballet, and community programming. Its design blends modern amenities with historic preservation, as the Murphey Hall was originally part of San Angelo’s City Hall built in 1928.
